About this stretch

The Concan / Garner reach is the heart of Frio River floating. Garner State Park's dam pools keep it floatable at low summer flows that would strand a free-flowing river, but in true drought it can drop to nearly nothing.

The Frio canyon is flash-flood prone: it can rise feet in minutes after upstream rain. Watch the weather upstream and the low-water crossings.
