Privacy Policy
Last updated June 25, 2026
FloatTX (“FloatTX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a free river-conditions website operated by Sweetwater Promotions LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This policy explains what information is collected when you use floattx.com and how it is used. By using the site, you agree to this policy.
The short version:FloatTX has no accounts and never asks for your name, email, or payment details. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used, your browser stores a few of your own preferences locally, and we don’t sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- No account or personal details. FloatTX has no login and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or payment information.
- Usage & analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (for example, pages viewed, approximate region derived from your IP address, device and browser type, referring links, and general usage patterns). This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Marketing measurement. We may use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the performance of social or referral traffic. When active, it may set cookies and report aggregate activity to Meta.
- Preferences stored on your device.Choices such as the river stretches you pin and your acknowledgment of the safety notice are saved in your browser’s local storage. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record standard request information (such as IP address, browser user agent, and timestamps) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. FloatTX itself does not require cookies to function, but the analytics and measurement tools above may set them. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and adjust ad-related settings through your Google and Meta accounts. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from using FloatTX.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its features.
- To understand which features and rivers are most useful.
- To protect the site against abuse and keep it reliable.
- To measure the reach of any marketing or community efforts.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Aggregated and device-level data is processed by our analytics and measurement providers (Google and, when enabled, Meta) under their own privacy policies. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Sweetwater Promotions LLC.
Third-party services and data
FloatTX displays public data from government and official sources including the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), the National Weather Service (NWS/NWPS), and Comal County. Those sources, along with Google and Meta, operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.
Your choices and rights
You can opt out of analytics using the tools described above or your browser’s privacy controls, and we honor browser “Do Not Track” and global privacy signals where required. Depending on where you live (for example, California residents under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to know about, access, or request deletion of personal information. Because we do not collect directly identifying information, our ability to act on a request may be limited to the analytics data described here. To make a request, contact us at hello@floattx.com.
Children’s privacy
FloatTX is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will address it.
Data security and retention
We rely on reputable hosting and analytics providers and take reasonable measures to protect the limited data involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Analytics data is retained according to our providers’ standard retention periods.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
